Medan, November 20, 2025 — AIRA, Yayasan Ali Bersaudara Sejahtera, COINS, PT Delitekno Media Mandiri, together with the Department of Information Systems and the Department of Data Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sumatera Utara (UINSU), officially opened the Academic Webinar 2025, held under the main theme “Optimizing Scientific Writing and the Utilization of AI in Research.”
The first session of the webinar focused on two essential components of modern academic writing: searching for high-quality reference metadata and using reference manager tools effectively.
Two speakers delivered in-depth presentations. Muhammad Dedi Irawan, M.Kom began the session by explaining various techniques and digital platforms for locating credible scientific reference metadata. He highlighted the importance of understanding metadata structure, evaluating publication quality, and ensuring the reliability of sources before using them in scholarly work.
The session continued with Muhammad Putra Dinata Saragi, M.Pd, who introduced several widely used reference manager tools, such as Zotero, Mendeley, and other citation software. He demonstrated how these tools can streamline the citation process, automatically generate bibliographies, and help researchers organize their references more efficiently.
